Home Gym

This substantial home gym exploited the permitted development allowances to the max.  Its ridgeline is set a few centimetres below the 4m maximum allowance, and its floorplan was equally designed to utilise the maximum space that the planning restrictions specify.

With the concrete base groundworks completed, the Hutchinsons team assembled the wall panels (pre-constructed in our workshop) over a floor which incorporated dedicated electrical feeds to serve floor mounted sockets (needed to power freestanding gym equipment and avoid trailing cables from wall sockets).  Colour coded aluminium doors and windows were fitted before cladding the exterior with a black painted weatherboard cladding over a protective breather membrane.  Marine ply boards were mounted onto the custom roof trusses, before finishing the roof with a cedar shingle cladding.

With the building complete, the surrounding area was landscaped with a gravel topped seating area.
